Introduction

This world map shows the country risk ratings according to the OECD classification. The OECD defines country risk as "the likelihood that a country will service its external debt".

If you would like to know more about the classification and related issues such as the Sub-Group Country Risk Experts, the involved Export Credit Agencies and Knaepen Package, please consult the OECD website:

OECD - Country Risk Classification

The editor prepares the publication of one or more articles about country risk analysis. These would also discuss matters such as sovereign debt default rates, country risk models and transfer/convertibility risk. Moreover, the data in this world map need to be updated.

Next to being informative about statistics that may be useful in geopolitical research, this page serves to show the possibilities of the freely available 'Do It Yourself' map for teaching purposes and writing blogs.
