Introduction

This world map shows the share of the largest producers in the global production of various agricultural commodities: Cocoa, Coffee, Cotton, Cacao, Palm Oil, Soy and Tea. As you can see below, these include countries such as Ghana, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Kenya and Indonesia.

Next to being informative about statistics that may be useful in geopolitical research, this page serves to show the possibilities of the freely available 'Do It Yourself' map for teaching purposes and writing blogs.

What do the colours and symbols mean?

  • Dark yellow: large producer of four agricultural commodities.
  • Light yellow: large producer of three agricultural commodities.
  • Orange: large producer of two agricultural commodities.
  • Pink: large producer of one agricultural commodity.
  • If you point cursor at country or icon on world map, the country's share in the global production of particular agricultural commodities becomes visible (only available for largest producers).

What are the sources?

How do I zoom in and out?

  • To zoom in on countries, simply click on map with left mouse button.
  • To zoom out, please click on water (blue) or click with right mouse button and choose "Zoom out!".
