Thought-provoking, geopolitical quotes will return in August 2010

At Campus The Hague, part of Leiden University, the Centre for Terrorism and Counterterrorism (CTC) has been working since 2007 on a database comprising key figures on research projects in the field of (counter-) terrorism, radicalisation and polarisation. The CTC database contains research projects conducted in the past five years as well as, which is internationally unique, research projects currently being conducted.
Thanks to a variety of search criteria, database users will easily find relevant research projects in the CTC database. Additionally, accountholders receive every quarter a newsletter containing most recent relevant developments with regard to the CTC database.
Although the initial emphasis in the database has been placed on academic research done in the Netherlands, the CTC database increasingly includes international research projects, in particularly those carried out in Europe. In the near future, the CTC database will be extended with ego documents from terrorists, radicalists, and their opponents.
The CTC database is primarily developed for the academic community and for policy makers. Including almost 300 (international) research projects, the database will illustrate most recent trends in (academic) research in the field of (counter-)terrorism, radicalisation and polarisation. In this way, researchers might easily identify remaining research gaps, while policy makers are able to prevent double subsidizing of policy relevant research.
In addition, the various search criteria used in the database, in combination with extensive contact information of particular researchers involved in the various research projects, enables both scholars and policy makers to easily come into contact with terrorism researchers, both domestically as well as on an international level.
The CTC is continuously working to update and improve its database. The aim is to register all current research projects in the Netherlands and relevant research done outside the Netherlands. The CTC therefore needs your support. Please do not hesitate to contact the CTC if you have more information about current research or research completed in the last five years in the field of (counter-)terrorism, radicalisation or polarisation.
If you would like to obtain an account for the database, please provide the CTC with some information about the purpose of your request. Requests can be emailed to infodatabase@campusdenhaag.nl. There are no costs connected to getting a CTC database login account.
